ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER

(minimum 2 years of working experience in an architecture firm required)

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Assist project teams in developing aesthetic and technical designs, and preparing architectural design and construction documents, including drawings, graphics, and specifications.

  • Support multiple projects of varying sizes, phases, and budgets.

  • Keep Project Architect informed of progress.

  • Participate in site planning and building design exercises.

  • Develop and document design concepts.

  • Perform building code reviews to assure compliance.

  • Assist in the production effort on projects from the Pre-Schematic Phase through Construction Documents.

  • Coordinate the work of consultants, reviewing and developing technical details and strategies that advance high performance design and systems integration, in support of sustainable design certifications.

  • Mentor junior staff.

  • Engage in the construction administration phase.

  • Support firm’s marketing efforts and administrative tasks. (website updates, Instagram, etc.)

REQUIREMENT

  • Minimum 2 years of working experience at an architecture firm.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or another related field.

  • Excellent skill with rendering and other graphics.

  • Proficiency with Revit, Sketchup, and Adobe Creative Cloud.

  • Excellent design and communication skills; verbal, written, and graphic.

  • Detail-oriented with a passion for excellence.

  • Excellent team player

  • Desire to grow into a project architect position in a few years.

  • Excited to be a part of a start-up architecture firm.

  • Positive attitude, strong motivation, and sense of humor.

  • Interested in Japanese architecture (both traditional and contemporary).

  • Fluency in Japanese.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Deep understanding of building science and sustainable designs.

  • Experience working with high-end residential projects.

  • Experience with permitting process and construction administration.


PROJECT ARCHITECT

(minimum 5 years of working experience in an architecture firm required)

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Coordinate work of consultants, reviewing and developing technical details and strategies.

  • Work in the construction administration phase

  • Support firm’s marketing efforts and administrative tasks.

REQUIREMENT

  • Minimum 5 years of working experience at an architecture firm.

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field..

  • Excellent skill with Revit and putting CD sets together

  • Technical expertise in detailing and knowledge of building systems.

  • Excellent design and communication skills; verbal, written, and graphic.

  • Technically strong enough to provide guidance to junior staff in the team.

  • Detail oriented with a passion for excellence.

  • Desire to grow into a project manager position in one to two years.

  • Enthusiastic about contributing to a startup architecture firm.

  • Positive thinker with strong motivation and great sense of humor.
